General Rental Terms
The car is rented to the customer for the agreed period in a clean and roadworthy condition. The renter must be at least 21 years of age, hold a valid driving licence, and have sufficient driving experience and be fit to drive for the entire rental period. Only the driver named in the rental agreement is permitted to operate the vehicle. By making a reservation or taking possession of the vehicle, the customer accepts these rental terms and conditions.
The vehicle must be used carefully and in accordance with applicable laws and traffic regulations. Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other substance impairing driving ability is strictly prohibited. The vehicle may only be used for normal road traffic within Finland. Use of the vehicle for racing, off-road driving, testing, towing, or any other use contrary to its intended purpose is prohibited. The vehicle may not be sublet or handed over to a third party, nor used for commercial purposes without prior permission from the owner. Use of the tow bar is permitted only within the vehicle’s technical limitations, and the renter is responsible for any damage caused by towing.
The rental includes a maximum of 200 kilometres per day. Any additional kilometres will be charged at a rate of €0.40 per kilometre. The vehicle must be returned at the agreed time in the same condition as at handover, taking normal wear and tear into account. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at the start of the rental, unless otherwise agreed. Missing fuel and any additional cleaning required will be charged according to the price list. Late returns may result in an additional charge.
A security deposit of €500 will be pre-authorized on the credit card when rental starts.The payment will be refunded once the vehicle has been inspected.
The renter is responsible for the vehicle for the entire rental period and liable for any damage, loss, or theft occurring during the rental. The renter’s maximum liability (insurance excess) in the event of damage is 1000€. The renter is also responsible for any costs not covered by insurance. Insurance does not cover damage caused intentionally, through gross negligence, in violation of these terms, or while driving under the influence. In particular, damage to tyres, rims, windows, interior, and vehicle equipment remains the renter’s responsibility.
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the vehicle. If smoking has occurred, a cleaning and ozone treatment fee will be charged.
The vehicle is covered by mandatory motor liability insurance and comprehensive insurance. In the event of an accident, damage, or technical fault, the renter must immediately notify both the vehicle owner and the intermediary, and contact the authorities if required. The vehicle must not be driven if doing so could cause further damage or pose a safety risk.
The renter is responsible for all traffic violations, parking fines, road tolls, and any other charges incurred during the rental period. The owner reserves the right to terminate the rental without refund if the vehicle is used in violation of these terms. The owner is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages, such as trip interruption or schedule changes. These rental terms are governed by Finnish law, and any disputes shall primarily be resolved through mutual negotiation. Any disputes shall be handled by the district court of the owner’s registered domicile.
Aavalevi Oy acts as an intermediary in car rentals. The cars are owned and rented by Ruiskarhu Oy (3434877-7). The rental agreement is concluded directly between the customer and the owner of the car.
